Kadhai Paneer is one of my favourite Paneer dishes which I often order at the restaurant.

It has just the right amount of spices, gravy and julienned veggies which gives it a different taste altogether!

Making it is just as easy as any other paneer dish only way tastier!



For tomato puree


1.  Boil tomatoes in water for 5-8 mins in high flame, or when the skin starts coming off from the tomatoes.

2. Let it cool and peel the skin of the tomatoes.

3. Grind it and make a puree.

For spices powder

1.  Heat a pan, put coriander seeds, green cardamom, dry kashmiri red chillies(if you do not have powder)  and fry it for 1-2 mins or till the aroma comes from the spices.

2. Grind it and make a powder.

Proceeding further

1.  Heat butter/oil in a pan. 

2. Put chopped onions, sauté it well for 3-4 minutes or till it becomes translucent .

3. Add ginger garlic paste and fry it for 1 min.

4. Add the powder of spices in it and add garam masala.. Fry it for 30 sec.

5. Then add tomato puree fry it for 2 mins.

6. Add capsicum and salt, cover the lid and cook it for 3-4 mins.

7. Add water and cook it for 6-7 mins more or till the gravy thickens.

8. Then add kasoor methi and mix it.

9. Put paneer in the gravy fry it for 2 mins more.

10. Add cream, mix gently.

11.  Garnish it with chopped coriander.


  Ingredient List

  • 250-300 gms (Cut in cubes) Paneer
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 3 Medium Tomatoes
  • 2 Medium, juliened Onion
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 2 (finely chopped) Green chilly
  • 2 Green cardamom
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2tsp Kashmiri Red Chilly powder
  • 1/2tsp Kasoori Methi
  • 1 medium, juliened Capsicum
  • 1/2 tbsp Garam Masala
  • 2 tbspt, finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 2 medium broken into small florets Cauliflower
  • 2 tbsp + for deep frying Oil
  • 2 tbsp Corn Flour
