Dum paneer is prepared with a combination of yogurt blended with spices , cream , coriander leaves and mint leaves. Paneer Kali Mirch is a creamy fragrant curry powered with black pepper.


For onion and spices paste
1. Heat oil in a pan, put onions, tej patta, cloves, cardamom, pepper and fry it till it becomes golden brown.
2. If you don’t have ginger garlic paste, fry it with onions to make a paste.
3. Roast cashews separately till the mixture cools down.
4. Grind it all to make a paste.

Proceeding further
5. After the paste is in room temperature, strain it slowly by adding little bit of water to get a smooth paste. Strain the paste till you get the residue behind.
6. Put the smooth paste in the pan and add some water. Add coriander powder, garam masala, fry it for 30 seconds.
7. Make a smooth mixture of curd as well and add it in the paste and keep stirring the mixture after adding some salt.
8. Put paneer and cream in the gravy.
9. Cover it and Let it cook for 5 mins or until you get the desired consistency.
10. Garnish it with chopped coriander.

  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2 large (roughly chopped) Onion
  • 250 gms(cut in to cubes) Paneer
  • 3 Green chillies
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • as per required consistency Water
  • 3 Cloves
  • 5 Black pepper
  • 1 (break it into half) Tej patta(bay leaves)
  • 1 inch Dalchini(cinamon)
  • 2 Black Cardamom
  • 2 Green cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 10-12 Cashews
  • 1 tsp Pepper powder
  • 3 tbsp Cream
  • 1 cup Dahi
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • Finely chopped, 2tbsp Coriander leaves
  • to taste Salt
