Sharing my version of the perfect recipe to reminisce growing up days with my brothers.....

days when every festive celebration was all about ‘Kheer’ and not any modern age sugary desserts.

Cherish every spoon talking about growing up days with your brother


1. In a pressure cooker add ghee and dry roast the Dalia for 10mins on slow flame
2. Add water and close the lid
3. Allow 4-5 whistle and let it cool
4. In a pan boil the milk for 5mins
5. Add the boiled Dalia to the milk
6. Add jaggery powder, milk masala powder and elaichi
7. Let it cool and freeze before serving
8. Best served in kulad.
9. Garnish with almond, pistachio flakes and roasted Kesar strands


  Ingredient List

  • 1 tbsp Ghee1
  • 1 cup Dalia
  • 2.5 cups Water
  • 1 litre Milk
  • 5 tbsp Jaggery powder / castor sugar
  • 2 tbsp Milk masala powder
  • 1 tsp Ilaichi
