Everyone’s favourite dinner recipe Aloo Matar.

Goes well with Roti/ Paratha or Rice!


Boil 2 tomatoes, 1 large onion, 7-8 cashew nuts for about 5 mins.

Cool it down and blend it to a fine paste.

Pressure cook potatoes for 2 whistles in the pressure cooker.

Peel, and cut into quarter size pieces.

Add salt and chilli powder, after 10 minutes shallow fry. 

Now in a pan take some ghee or butter, add cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste, I tbs of kashmiri chilli powder.

Then add the prepared paste and let it cook. When oil separates, add I cup water, salt to taste, half cup peas, 2 tbs milk or cream.


Bring it to  boil and let it cook for 5 mins.

Then add crushed kastorri methi, 1 tsp garam masala.

When the gravy thickens add the potatoes.

Serve with coriander leaves.

  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Garam masala
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Green Peas
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 2 tbsp chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Kasoor Methi
